Handicap and Elderly People are my Inspirational People
Next, a week later I met an old lady who came to work at the same place and she said “I work during break and school time I go to study and take some classes. She was 65 years old. Even rather away she finishes her degree from university. I will have retirement letters and will not have opportunity to work again. We sat together at the dinner tables. I was wondering about what she was doing and why she studies. I asked why you study, and she said to me that “When she was young, she went to college nonetheless in the middle of her education she dropped out because I got a well paying job. She has been working until a few years ago about 2015. Carl couldn’t do any more work because some young educated people replaced her position and her company did not hire her anymore. So, I went out and now I realize that I already started college but not finished. Now I just tried to finish at the college I started a long time ago. I have to finish what I really started before my retirement letter. She said, her name was Carl.
Similar story, in my math probability and linear class in fall 2018. One disability Daniel. He was majoring in computer science. He could not speak nor hear so we called him deaf. Daniel went to class with an interpreter to translate math lecture to him. He tried and studied very hard, and had difficulty chatting with normal students. Daniel mostly did his best, but his extra help was interpreter and his phone to take pictures of the lesson instructors wrote in front of the board. I clearly understand Daniel, even though he was handicap, he stood for himself and wanted to do the same with other people that finish his education and find a career.
In that class, I also met one old woman and a man about 60 years old. Both of them took that class too. I had a hard time comprehending why these people came back to study again. Maybe those who had the same situation with cards try to finish their degree that they already started long time ago or perhaps their requirement from their job.
All these people were my inspirational people that were already old and disable to do something. I can do it by myself. I am not a handicap who needs to interpret every time I need. I am not like older people whose future is very limited, only a couple work and get retirement letters. I learned from them, I must study hard, get my degree in my early life and when I get old I no need to come back to study to finish my degree. I went to overseas school, had a big challenge, and had a difficult time catching up with native students. I need to translate when I hear new words in my class. I did not have too many friends to get help when I stuck with school work.
From that time, I tried as hard as I could, I tried hard to finish homework on time. When I have a question, I build my professor every time I can. Also, one thing I did was focus. I gave up social media, kept touch with my family, joined a club and procrastinated. As a result, the first class of my math class was my terrible background. I tried, tried, and tried as I can to work on my dream to finish in the school. That all because of a handicap and elderly student inspired me to do that. Thanks
